The Ultimate White Kitchen Remodel Reveal: A Dream Transformed
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been captivated by the “reveal” moments on home makeover shows. You know the scene: incredible individuals, often with heartwarming stories, finally remove their blindfolds to witness their newly transformed homes for the very first time. That perfect blend of disbelief, awe, profound thankfulness, and sheer, unadulterated joy radiating from their faces? It’s pure magic.
Remarkably, that’s precisely how I feel every single morning when I step into my new kitchen. It’s a fresh “reveal day” each time, a constant source of wonder. I still find it hard to believe that this extraordinary space is truly mine—that I am the fortunate one who gets to live here, to create countless meals, to host cherished gatherings, and to simply call this beautiful place home. It all feels like the most incredible gift, which it undoubtedly is. Daily, I find myself overwhelmed with gratitude, often tearing up, and yes, sometimes even indulging in a little celebratory dance party. It’s a feeling that never gets old.
The journey to completing this kitchen remodel has been extensive, filled with both challenges and invaluable lessons. I’m eager to share these insights with all of you, especially those brave souls considering a kitchen transformation of your own. This week, I’ll be dedicating each day to a different facet of the remodel—diving deep into appliances, cabinets, lighting/flooring, sink/faucet, furniture, and countertops—detailing the story behind each choice and why these elements are truly exceptional. The Vision: Embracing a White-on-White Aesthetic
As you can clearly see from the photos, my design choice leaned heavily into a striking white-on-white aesthetic. This deliberate decision permeates every major element of the space: we chose elegant White Ice appliances from Whirlpool, pristine white cabinets sourced from Cabinet Giant, and beautifully marbled white quartz countertops from DalTile. Each component was carefully selected, and I genuinely adore the harmonious result.
Initially, I admit I harbored a slight skepticism. I wondered if such an extensive use of white might be “too much,” or if the various shades of white from different brands would clash rather than complement each other. However, my concerns proved entirely unfounded. The interplay of textures and subtle nuances of white has created an absolutely stunning and cohesive look. The kitchen exudes a distinctly modern and clean aesthetic, and I am particularly enamored with how incredibly bright it is every single day. When the sun streams in, the entire space literally glows with an ethereal light, making it feel utterly inviting and expansive. It’s a testament to the power of a well-executed monochromatic scheme.
The brightness of the space is so profound that my camera even struggled to focus on all that radiant white! It’s a wonderful problem to have.
Countertop Grandeur: DalTile’s Marbled White Quartz
For the very first time in my adult life, I am now blessed with one of the most coveted kitchen luxuries of all: abundant space. Specifically, an extraordinary amount of countertop real estate. Throughout my life, I’ve always cooked and lived in relatively small kitchens, typically battling with severely limited counter space. This experience, while challenging, undeniably taught me the art of stacking, organizing, and ingeniously maximizing every available inch. However, to now have feet upon glorious feet of uninterrupted counter space is nothing short of revolutionary.
It’s almost comparable to upgrading from a twin-sized bed to a king. Initially, I found myself instinctively trying to perform all ten cooking tasks within the same tiny corner of the counter, a habit ingrained from years of scarcity. Then, a delightful “aha!” moment would strike: “Oh! I can actually spread out now!” This newfound freedom has transformed my cooking experience, allowing for multiple simultaneous prep stations, effortless baking, and generous serving areas when entertaining. The marbled white quartz countertops from DalTile are not only visually stunning, seamlessly integrating with the white aesthetic, but they are also incredibly durable and easy to maintain, a practical dream come true for any busy kitchen. This immense expanse of beautiful, functional surface is truly fantastic.
Cabinets That Soar: Unpacking the Cabinet Giant Experience
Without a shadow of a doubt, the first feature that garners universal admiration and commentary from everyone who steps into my new kitchen is the spectacular display of white cabinets from Cabinet Giant. It may be challenging to fully grasp their sheer scale and impressive height from photographs, but trust me when I say: they are exceptionally tall, and they are absolutely beautiful. These cabinets don’t just provide storage; they make a dramatic architectural statement, drawing the eye upwards and enhancing the feeling of spaciousness in the loft.
While more in-depth details will be shared in an upcoming post dedicated solely to the cabinetry, I cannot recommend Cabinet Giant enough. Their products, particularly the White Ice line that captured my heart, are truly stunning in person. They boast a gorgeous, consistent white finish, feel incredibly heavy and sturdy to the touch, and—most importantly—offer an unparalleled amount of storage. It has been an absolute delight to unpack and find dedicated homes for all my kitchen items, many of which previously resided in closets, on bookcases, or even, embarrassingly, under my bed. (*Edited after posting: Several readers have inquired about my plans for a backsplash. Interestingly, I’m not a “backsplash person”! My last two kitchens also went without one, and I developed a genuine fondness for the clean simplicity of a plain wall, which offers a beautiful contrast to the detailed cabinets and countertops. While my contractor did attempt to persuade me to add one, I am firmly planning to maintain this minimalist approach, keeping it simple and elegant as-is.*)
Appliances That Shine: Whirlpool White Ice Collection
Another element that has consistently elicited instant “ooohs” and “ahhhs” from friends and family is the incredible White Ice appliance line from Whirlpool. In fact, these gorgeous appliances served as the primary inspiration for the entire white-on-white theme of the kitchen. They are, without exaggeration, total showstoppers. I now find myself genuinely excited about every opportunity to use them, even for something as simple as warming up a cup of tea in the microwave. The Heart of the Kitchen: Kohler Sink and Touch-Free Faucet
Adding to the excitement is this absolutely gorgeous cast-iron sink paired with an innovative touch-free faucet, both from the renowned brand Kohler. While it might be a little subtle in this particular photograph, the sink’s color is actually a sophisticated, very light gray-ish taupe. This unexpected hue introduces a subtle warmth and depth, looking incredibly beautiful and classy within the predominantly white kitchen design. And its size? It’s simply enormous, making meal prep and dishwashing a far more comfortable task.
However, I’m quite confident that the touch-free faucet has been the runaway favorite feature among all my family and friends. Its ingenious design allows you to simply wave your hand under the top arch, and voilà, the water turns on or off instantly. This isn’t just a gimmick; it’s incredibly practical. The sensor is cleverly designed to activate only when your hand is within a few inches, eliminating any worries about accidentally stopping the water flow while you’re in the middle of washing dishes. When the kind folks at Kohler initially recommended this, I considered it a nice, perhaps slightly indulgent, perk. But now, I am completely sold on the sheer brilliance and immense helpfulness of this touch-free technology. Bravo, Kohler, for revolutionizing a daily kitchen task!
Illuminating Design: Lowe’s Lighting and Flooring Solutions
Among my many cherished elements in this new kitchen, the carefully selected lighting and flooring, both discovered at Lowe’s, hold a special place. As I’ve mentioned in earlier kitchen remodel updates, I absolutely fell head over heels for the Allen+Roth brand of lighting available at Lowe’s. The moment I saw these fixtures in the store displays, I couldn’t wait to have them installed, both in the main kitchen area and above the dining table. They looked fantastic in the showroom, but holy smokes, they look absolutely magnificent now that they are actually installed in my home. Each fixture contributes a unique blend of elegance and functionality, perfectly illuminating the space and enhancing its overall ambiance. The double fixtures in the dining room, in particular, are exceptionally cool and create a striking visual impact (you’ll see them in a couple of photos down).
We faced a minor dilemma regarding flooring when the kitchen remodel commenced. My initial desire was to seamlessly extend the beautiful wood flooring from the rest of the loft into the kitchen area. However, due to a few unforeseen complications with installation and compatibility, we ultimately needed to pivot and opt for tile. Looking back now, I am absolutely thrilled with this unexpected turn of events, because the wood-grain tile I found at Lowe’s is simply awesome! Not only does it brilliantly mimic the aesthetic of natural wood, but it also offers far superior durability—a practical advantage I am very glad to have now. The color is subtly light in person, and the intricate design of the grain is truly beautiful, creating a sophisticated texture underfoot. It looks incredibly sharp and provides a perfect, grounding contrast against the crisp white cabinets, tying the entire space together beautifully.
Seating for Every Occasion: Nebraska Furniture Mart & Broyhill
One of my primary aspirations for this kitchen, and indeed for my entire new loft, was to create an abundance of comfortable seating options. I absolutely adore entertaining, but my previous loft was quite tiny, leading to guests constantly standing or practically sitting on top of each other during parties. Therefore, I was particularly thrilled at the prospect of integrating ample extra seating directly into the kitchen and dining area.
After extensive shopping around and countless hours of searching, I was ecstatic to discover these charming industrial metal and wood stools last week at Nebraska Furniture Mart. Not only were they exactly the style I envisioned—a perfect blend of modern and rustic—but they were also more affordably priced than many similar stools I encountered on the market that I didn’t even like as much. To top it all off, I managed to purchase them during a sale! What a score!

Oh my goodness, it is simply incredible. Just yesterday, for my book club, we comfortably seated an astonishing 14 (yes, fourteen!) people around it for a substantial meal.
